GI Partners will acquire a majority stake in newly merged eDiscovery companies Consilio and Advanced Discovery. No financial terms were disclosed. When the deal closes, Shamrock Capital Advisors and Trivest Partners will exit their stakes in the combined company. The deal is expected to close in the second quarter of this year. Andy Macdonald will lead the combined company as its CEO.

WASHINGTON & AUSTIN, Texas–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Consilio, a global leader in eDiscovery, document review, and legal consulting services, and Advanced Discovery, a global eDiscovery and risk management provider, have announced a definitive agreement to unite their worldwide operations, technology solutions and consulting resources. The combined company will consist of over 2,500 employees, 14 data centers and 23 document review facilities in 11 countries. The company’s global operations will support large-scale, fast-moving matters that need to process, host and review vast repositories of data. The full solution suite will span information governance, risk management, eDiscovery and document and contract review.

Under the terms of the partnership, GI Partners will take a majority position in the combined companies, and current investors, Shamrock Capital Advisors and Trivest Partners, will exit their respective positions.
