Francisco Partners-led investor group completes take-private buyout of Verifone

An investor group led by Francisco Partners has closed its previously announced take-private acquisition of Verifone Systems Inc, a San Jose, California-based provider of payment and commerce solutions. Also included in the investor group is British Columbia Investment Management Corporation. According to terms of the deal, Verifone stockholders received $23.04 per share in cash. As a result of the closing, Verifone’s common stock has stopped trading on the New York Stock Exchange.

(“Verifone” or the “Company”), a global leader in payment and commerce solutions, today announced that it has been acquired by an investor group led by Francisco Partners, a leading technology focused private equity firm, and including British Columbia Investment Management Corporation. The acquisition was previously announced on April 9, 2018 and closed and became effective today.

With the transaction completed, Mike Pulli becomes Verifone’s new CEO.
